Tour Overview

Begin in Kochi, where old trading quarters, colonial-era facades and the harbourfront offer a graceful first view of Kerala. In Fort Kochi, allow time for the Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church and the narrow streets around Mattancherry, where warehouses, cafés and spice merchants reflect the city’s long maritime history.

From the coast, your private chauffeur takes you into the Western Ghats and Munnar’s cooler tea country. The drive is scenic but unhurried, rising through spice-growing areas, waterfalls and wooded slopes before reaching a landscape of manicured tea estates, valleys and misty ridges. Premium accommodation provides a comfortable base for exploring at an easy pace.

Munnar sightseeing combines tea heritage with the region’s best-known viewpoints, including the Mattupetty area and Echo Point, subject to local conditions. Continue to Alleppey for a quieter finale aboard a private houseboat. As it moves through palm-lined canals and broad backwaters, there is time to watch village life pass by and enjoy freshly prepared Kerala-style meals on board.

Private chauffeur-driven travel, carefully selected stays and sensible journey timings keep this short Kerala holiday relaxed and well organised. Mountain roads can be winding, while traffic and weather may occasionally affect travel times; the programme is therefore planned with flexibility. It is well suited to couples, families and first-time visitors seeking a comfortable introduction to southern India.

Tour Itinerary

Your Day-by-Day Journey

Explore your private India tour day by day, with comfortable travel, sightseeing and carefully planned experiences.

On arrival at Cochin International Airport, meet your private chauffeur and transfer to your selected premium hotel. After time to settle in, take a gentle introduction to Fort Kochi, depending on your flight schedule. See the Chinese fishing nets along Vasco da Gama Square, visit St. Francis Church and stroll past the weathered colonial buildings that give this district its distinctive character. If time permits, continue towards Mattancherry’s old trading lanes. Keep the evening free for a relaxed dinner near the waterfront or at your hotel. Overnight in Kochi.

After breakfast, leave Kochi for Munnar in your private vehicle. This is a scenic mountain journey, with the landscape changing from coastal plains to spice-growing countryside, forested slopes and waterfalls. Your chauffeur can pause at suitable viewpoints and roadside refreshment stops, allowing the day to unfold at a comfortable pace. The final approach to Munnar is winding, so an early departure is recommended. Arrive at your premium hill hotel, check in and enjoy the cooler air. The remainder of the afternoon is free to rest or take a short walk nearby. Overnight in Munnar.

Today is dedicated to Munnar’s tea country and surrounding highland scenery. Begin with a visit to the KDHP Tea Museum, or a comparable tea experience if schedules require, to understand the area’s plantation history and tea-making process. Continue towards Mattupetty, where tea-covered hills and wooded valleys create excellent views, then visit Echo Point if conditions are suitable. Your route can be adjusted to avoid unnecessary rushing and to suit the weather. Eravikulam National Park may be considered when open and when time permits. Return to your hotel for a relaxed evening. Overnight in Munnar.

After breakfast, depart Munnar and descend from the hills towards Alleppey. The drive is longer than the previous days, so the schedule is kept practical, with comfort stops en route. On arrival, board your private houseboat for an overnight cruise through Kerala’s peaceful waterways. Settle into your cabin and watch coconut palms, rice fields, small jetties and local boats pass from the deck. The exact cruising route depends on water conditions and the boarding time. Freshly prepared meals are served on board according to the houseboat operating plan. Overnight aboard your private houseboat.

Wake to a quiet morning on the backwaters and enjoy breakfast on board before disembarkation. Your chauffeur will then drive you to Kochi for your onward flight or a hotel extension. Transfer timing is arranged around your departure schedule, with enough allowance for Kerala’s road traffic. If you have a later flight, a short stop in Kochi may be possible, subject to timing and luggage arrangements. This short journey ends with private transport to Cochin International Airport or another agreed point in Kochi. Airport check-in, airline formalities and any onward arrangements remain at your discretion.
