Private Luxury Golden Triangle Tour
See Delhi, Agra and Jaipur in four well-planned days with the comfort of a private car, an experienced English-speaking driver and luxury hotel stays. This short Golden Triangle itinerary is designed for travellers who want to cover India’s defining historic cities without the uncertainty of shared transport or fixed coach schedules.
Delhi introduces the route with broad ceremonial avenues and important landmarks such as India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb or Qutub Minar, according to your arrival time. In Agra, the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and a possible Mehtab Bagh visit reveal the scale and refinement of Mughal India. The road to Jaipur includes Fatehpur Sikri, the former imperial city of Emperor Akbar, before Rajasthan brings a contrasting world of hilltop forts, palace courtyards and the distinctive façades of the Pink City.
Each day can be adjusted around your interests, flight timings and preferred pace. Optional local guides can be arranged for deeper context at major sites, while your driver manages the practical details of the journey. The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays; visiting hours, security procedures, weather and monument access can change, so sightseeing is confirmed close to travel.
Handpicked Luxury Hotels
Suggested hotels include The Imperial New Delhi, The Oberoi New Delhi or Taj Palace; The Oberoi Amarvilas, ITC Mughal or Taj Hotel & Convention Centre in Agra; and Rambagh Palace, The Oberoi Rajvilas or Rajmahal Palace RAAS in Jaipur. Highlights of Your Journey.
Your Day-by-Day Journey
Explore your private India tour day by day, with comfortable travel, sightseeing and carefully planned experiences.
On arrival at Delhi airport, meet your private driver for a comfortable transfer to your hotel. After check-in, take time to settle in following your flight. Depending on your arrival time, begin with a gentle introduction to the capital rather than a tightly timed programme. Drive past India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan, set along the formal avenues of New Delhi. If time permits, visit Humayun’s Tomb, an elegant 16th-century garden tomb, or the Qutub Minar complex, known for its soaring early medieval minaret and layered history. Your route can be adapted to avoid rushing, with time for refreshments or an early return to the hotel if needed. An optional local guide can be arranged for the afternoon. Overnight in Delhi at a suggested luxury hotel, subject to availability.
After breakfast, travel by private air-conditioned car from Delhi to Agra. The drive is planned with sensible comfort stops and can be adjusted to your preferences. On arrival, check in at your luxury hotel and relax before afternoon sightseeing. Visit Agra Fort, the red sandstone stronghold developed by Mughal emperors and later used as an imperial residence. Its gateways, audience halls and riverside views offer useful context before seeing the Taj Mahal. Later, where timing, weather and local conditions are suitable, visit Mehtab Bagh on the opposite bank of the Yamuna for a quieter sunset-facing perspective of the Taj Mahal. This is a viewing experience rather than a substitute for the main monument visit. Your driver remains at your disposal for the scheduled programme. Overnight in Agra at a suggested luxury hotel, subject to availability.
An optional early visit to the Taj Mahal can be arranged at sunrise, subject to opening rules, weather, security arrangements and the Friday closure. Return to the hotel for breakfast before leaving Agra for Jaipur by private car. En route, pause at Fatehpur Sikri, Emperor Akbar’s late-16th-century capital. Explore its striking red sandstone buildings, including grand courtyards, audience spaces and the monumental Buland Darwaza, with an optional guide available for those who would like historical interpretation. Continue through Rajasthan towards Jaipur, with comfort breaks arranged as required. On arrival, check in at your palace-style luxury hotel and enjoy time at leisure. You may choose a relaxed evening at the hotel, or ask us to arrange an optional Jaipur dining experience. Overnight in Jaipur at a suggested luxury hotel, subject to availability.
After breakfast, explore Jaipur with your private driver and, if requested, an expert local guide. Start at Amber Fort, dramatically positioned on a hillside above Maota Lake. Its gateways, courtyards and decorated halls reflect the courtly architecture of the former Kachwaha rulers. Continue with a photo stop at Jal Mahal, the water palace on Man Sagar Lake, followed by the honeycombed façade of Hawa Mahal. Visit the City Palace, still partly associated with Jaipur’s former royal family, and Jantar Mantar, the historic astronomical observatory, as timing allows. The exact order is tailored around traffic, opening times and your departure schedule. After sightseeing, transfer privately to Jaipur Airport. A return transfer to Delhi Airport can also be arranged on request, allowing appropriate time for the longer road journey. Monument access and schedules remain subject to change.
