14 Days Golden Triangle Rajasthan Tour
14 Day Golden Triangle Tour with Rajasthan
Places Covered on This Journey.
Private heritage travel across North India and Rajasthan
This 14 days Golden Triangle tour with Rajasthan is designed for travellers who want landmark architecture, long-established royal cities and the Thar Desert within one carefully paced private itinerary. It begins with Delhi’s Mughal and colonial-era sights, continues to Agra for the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, then moves through Jaipur and the historic trading and princely centres of Rajasthan.
Beyond the classic route, the journey takes in Bikaner’s courtly architecture, Jaisalmer’s living sandstone fort, a sunset at the Sam dunes, and Jodhpur’s formidable Mehrangarh Fort. The final days bring a quieter change of scene: Ranakpur’s exceptionally detailed marble temple and Udaipur’s palaces, lakes and Aravalli Hills setting.
Thoughtful private pacing
Your private air-conditioned car and experienced driver remain with you throughout the road journey, allowing for comfortable stops, flexible departure times and a more considered pace than a fixed coach itinerary. Local guides and accommodation can be arranged to match your preferred level of service.
- Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Rajasthan’s leading heritage sites in one route
- Sunrise timing at the Taj Mahal, subject to its Friday closure
- Optional desert camp, camel ride or jeep excursion at Sam dunes
- Private departure transfer in Udaipur at the end of the tour
As a Delhi Agra Jaipur Rajasthan tour, this programme suits first-time visitors as well as returning travellers seeking a broader Golden Triangle Rajasthan heritage tour. It can also be tailored as a luxury India tour package with upgraded stays, private guides and additional experiences.
Highlights of Your Journey.
Your Day-by-Day Journey
Explore your private India tour day by day, with comfortable travel, sightseeing and carefully planned experiences.
On arrival at Delhi Airport, or from your selected Delhi hotel, meet your private driver for a comfortable transfer to your accommodation. After check-in, the remainder of the day is free to rest after your flight or enjoy independent plans. Overnight in Delhi.
Spend a full day exploring the contrasting quarters of India’s capital with your private car and, if selected, local guide. Visit Jama Masjid, travel through the lanes around Chandni Chowk, and stop at Raj Ghat. In New Delhi, see India Gate and visit Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar. Sightseeing order may be adjusted for traffic, monument hours and your interests. Overnight in Delhi.
Drive from Delhi to Agra, approximately 230 km and around 3.5–4.5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. After arrival and check-in, visit the red sandstone ramparts, halls and riverside pavilions of Agra Fort. Later, visit Mehtab Bagh on the opposite bank of the Yamuna for a calm view towards the Taj Mahal. Overnight in Agra.
Visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise, when entry timing and weather permit. Please note that the Taj Mahal is closed every Friday; the schedule must be adjusted if this day falls on a Friday. Continue to Fatehpur Sikri, about 40 km from Agra and roughly one hour by road, to explore Emperor Akbar’s former capital. Then drive onwards to Jaipur, around 240 km from Fatehpur Sikri and 4–5 hours. Total road distance is approximately 280 km, excluding sightseeing time. Overnight in Jaipur.
Explore Jaipur’s royal landmarks, beginning with Amber Fort, where courtyards and mirrored halls overlook the Aravalli Hills. Continue to City Palace and the astronomical instruments of Jantar Mantar, then view the distinctive facade of Hawa Mahal and the waterside setting of Jal Mahal. The day is arranged privately, allowing time for photography, shopping or a relaxed lunch. Overnight in Jaipur.
Leave Jaipur for Bikaner by private car, a journey of approximately 335 km taking around 5.5–6.5 hours. Following arrival, visit Junagarh Fort if timing permits. Unlike many Rajasthan forts, Junagarh was built on the plains and contains richly decorated court rooms, balconies and museums. If arrival is later than expected, the visit can be considered the following morning where feasible. Overnight in Bikaner.
Travel west through increasingly arid Rajasthan to Jaisalmer, approximately 330 km and 5.5–6 hours by road. Arrive in the late afternoon, check in, and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Jaisalmer’s honey-coloured sandstone takes on a particularly warm tone near sunset. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
Discover Jaisalmer’s historic core, including the inhabited Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon Ki Haveli and Salim Singh Ki Haveli. Continue to Gadisar Lake, once the city’s principal water source, and allow time to browse the local market lanes for textiles, silverwork and regional crafts. Your private schedule can be paced around the heat and your preferred visiting time. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
Travel around 40 km west of Jaisalmer to the Sam sand dunes for a Thar Desert experience. Camel rides or jeep activities may be arranged if included in your chosen camp package. Enjoy sunset views across the dunes before staying at a desert camp or returning to your Jaisalmer hotel, according to your selected arrangement. Desert activities, camp operations and timing depend on the chosen package and weather conditions.
Drive from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur, covering approximately 285 km in around 5–5.5 hours. The route crosses open desert-country landscapes before reaching the blue-painted quarters and dramatic sandstone skyline of Jodhpur. Check in on arrival and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in Jodhpur.
Visit Mehrangarh Fort, one of Rajasthan’s most impressive citadels, with galleries that trace the history of the Rathore rulers. Continue to Jaswant Thada, then explore the Clock Tower Market and selected lanes of the old blue city. The programme can include time for local spices, textiles and handicrafts at your own pace. Overnight in Jodhpur.
Drive to Udaipur via the Ranakpur Jain Temple, approximately 260 km in total and around 5.5–6.5 hours including a sensible stop. Ranakpur is known for its finely carved marble pillars and serene forested setting. Temple access is subject to local visiting rules, religious timings and dress requirements. Continue through the Aravalli Hills to Udaipur. Overnight in Udaipur.
Explore Udaipur’s principal sights, beginning with City Palace above Lake Pichola. Take in views towards Jag Mandir, visit Jagdish Temple and continue to the fountains and gardens of Saheliyon Ki Bari. The day also includes Fateh Sagar Lake, with flexibility for a lake cruise or additional time at leisure if selected. Overnight in Udaipur.
Enjoy leisure time according to your departure schedule. Your private driver will transfer you to Udaipur Airport or another selected departure point within the city. Airport reporting times and transfer timing will be planned around your onward flight or travel arrangements.
