Tour Overview

Begin in Jaipur, where the legacy of the Kachwaha court is visible in broad processional streets, salmon-coloured façades and carefully planned palace precincts. At Amber Fort, a succession of gateways, courtyards and royal apartments climbs the hillside above Maota Lake. In the city, the City Palace and Jantar Mantar add a more formal perspective on Jaipur’s rulers, craftsmanship and scientific ambition.

From Jaipur, private road travel continues to Jodhpur, the old capital of Marwar. Mehrangarh Fort dominates the skyline from its sandstone ridge, with elaborate reception halls, painted chambers and far-reaching views across the city below. Beneath the fort, Jodhpur’s blue-painted neighbourhoods, small temples and market lanes make for an engaging contrast to the grand scale of the palace complex.

The route south crosses changing Aravalli scenery and pauses at Ranakpur, home to one of Rajasthan’s most finely carved Jain temple complexes. Udaipur brings the journey to a graceful close: its lakeside setting, white marble palaces and island views offer a markedly different atmosphere from the desert cities of Jaipur and Jodhpur. The City Palace, standing above Lake Pichola, is particularly rewarding for its layered architecture and views over the water.

Travel throughout is by private air-conditioned car with a dedicated driver, allowing a practical pace for a seven-day route. Pickup is arranged in Delhi and the tour concludes with a drop-off in Udaipur. Timings can be sensibly adapted for your arrival, road conditions, monument opening hours and preferred sightseeing rhythm.

Tour Highlights

Highlights of Your Journey.

Private Road Travel Through Rajasthan: Travel from Delhi through Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ranakpur and Udaipur in a private air-conditioned car. The schedule allows sensible comfort stops, photo breaks and flexibility around road conditions.
Amber Fort: Explore Jaipur’s hilltop fort, with its defensive gateways, ceremonial courtyards, royal apartments and decorative mirror work. Its setting above Maota Lake gives a clear sense of the former Amber capital.
Jaipur City Palace and Jantar Mantar: Visit the City Palace complex for its royal courtyards, museum collections and ornate gateways. Nearby Jantar Mantar presents monumental astronomical instruments built for precise observation of the sky.
Mehrangarh Fort: Tour Jodhpur’s vast sandstone fort, which rises high above the old city. Its museum rooms, latticed windows and historic palaces reveal the courtly world of the Rathore rulers.
Jodhpur Blue City Lanes and Markets: Walk through the blue-painted lanes below Mehrangarh, where tightly packed houses and shrines shape the old city. Browse around the Clock Tower and Sardar Market for spices, textiles and everyday local trade.
Ranakpur Jain Temple: Break the drive to Udaipur at the 15th-century Ranakpur Jain Temple. Its forest setting and densely carved marble pillars provide one of the route’s most detailed architectural visits.
Udaipur City Palace: Discover the courtyards, galleries and mosaic-decorated rooms of the City Palace overlooking Lake Pichola. The complex offers excellent views towards the lake, Jag Mandir and Udaipur’s surrounding hills.
Optional Lake Pichola Boat Ride: Subject to weather, water conditions and boat operations, add a shared or private boat ride on Lake Pichola. It is a relaxed way to view the City Palace façade, Jag Mandir and the lakefront from the water.
